Kapil Gupta

Dr. Kapil Gupta is working as research scientist at Indo-Korea Science and technology (IKST), Bangalore since January 2015. Prior to that he was post-doctoral researcher at IKST from Feb - Dec 2014. He earlier was research consultant in Global research center of GE India technology center at Bangalore (May 2013- Jan 2014). He also had a short stint as research associate with Prof. U V Waghmare at JNCASR bangalore(Dec 2013-April 2014).

His research interests lies in energy materials. At IKST he is involved in studies of compound catalyst for Hydrogen evolution reaction in fuel cells, conversion of CO2 into hydrocarbons etc. Using first-principle Density functional theory calculations. In past he has studied structural stability of ODS steel and oxide materials in several geometries like bulk, thin films and heterostructures, exploring properties like multiferroicity, ferroelectricity among others.

Kapil Gupta is Ph.D. in computational Material Science from S. N. Bose National Center for Basic Sciences, Kolkata and M.Sc. (Physics) from Agra University, Agra.
